2006 L'Ermitage Brut Late Disgorged

Disgorged November 2022 and after nearly 15 years on the yeast (178 months to be precise), another life begins for this late disgorged release.  Aromatics of hazelnut and roasted nuts fill the glass. As the wine warms up, notes of baked apples develop. Marzipan and hints of caramel and ground coffee give away its age…

95 Points
Luxurious and seductive, with baked apple, brioche and roasted hazelnut flavors that are highlighted by steely acidity, backed by strawberry and Meyer lemon tones on the luscious finish.

95 Points
Golden-hued with rich depth and no malolactic fermentation, this wine shows its depth from 15 years en tirage—nutty aromatics with bruised yellow apples and rich, honeyed apricot flesh. There is less persistence on the mousse; lemon curd gives way to the depth of rich, ripe pomme fruits. Bartlett pear flesh and cooked Fuji apples. Rich and deep, marzipan and almond pastry cream.

95 Points
Delightful, vivid energy jumps out of the glass of this wine. Aromas of baked yellow apple, pear, warm brioche and caramelized sugar arise on the nose. The midpalate features flavors of fresh apricot, sun-kissed orange blossoms and vanilla-orange creamsicle, with pulsating acidity gently gliding into the finish.
